The panhandle portion of the park is about as tough of a landscape as you could hope for. Conditions are highly variable and the road often has to be reconstructed many times along individual segments depending on what kind of erosion has been inflicted from the monsoon rains. Travel in groups and bring plenty of tools, spares, and water!
That is a great "must-see" line up. I'd book your campsites now as this may be a busy fall!
Myself plus two other rigs will be doing this in October also. I have 8 days on tap and the rest of the party has 4 days. I think I've got our "route" mapped out already. Tres Papalotes, Guale 2 and Chorro Vista are my current "must see location". Really excited about this run!!
