Sanderson in 1958
« on: July 04, 2013, 06:51:51 PM »
I'm a 40-year-old native Houstonian working on a novel set in West Texas of the late 1950s to late '60s. I'm trying to be as true as possible to what it was like being a teenager at that time, a teenage Anglo girl to be specific. I suspect that Larry McMurtry's account of Archer City in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW was very different than the experience out west. Much of my story takes place in Sanderson, but anyone who lived in Big Bend from 1958 to 1968 would be able to provide a tremendous amount of insight to what life was like then.
