The Roy's Peak Vista primitive campsite is located along the northern end of the Old Ore Road.

Site Name    RP-1
Vehicles    2
Persons    6
Horses    no

How to Get There
Via the Old Ore Road, 9.3 miles from the Dagger Flat Auto Trail (17.0 miles from the main paved road to Rio Grande Village). The access road to the campsite is 0.1 mile in length along the west side of the Old Ore Road.

Usual Road Conditions
High clearance is highly recommended and 4-wheel drive may be necessary after recent rains. The campsite access road is rutted and requires caution. Ask a Park Ranger for the latest road conditions.
Current road conditions...

Ground Cover/Shade
No shade available. Vegetation includes mostly creosote bush and cactus. The site is somewhat protected from wind.

Views
Low hills surround the campsite. There is a good view of the Dead Horse Mountains to the east and the Chisos can be observed to the southwest.

River Access
None.

Cautionary Notes
Access road is rough.

Remarks
This campsite is large and offers a good "cul-de-sac" turn around.

The remains of an old ranch site are nearby.A backcountry use permit is required (available at visitor centers). Campers are responsible for regulations listed on the permit. Camping is in designated sites for minimal impact on the surrounding vegetation.

I believe this is a first, at least for me.  Posting live from Roy's Peak Campsite.....sweet dreams!

I thought it worthwhile to publish a link to Casa Grande's post here along with the information that you actually have cell service at this site.  Not sure what carrier.
