Frau, that is one of the best articles I have read about the Trans-Pecos as a cultural entity; thanks for sharing it. Everyone should take the time to visit the Chinati Foundation and see the works of Donald Judd. (and while you are at it visit "Chinati Hot Springs" for a serious
soak" (Donald Judd once owned it) While you are there you can view from afar Chinati Peak, one of the most beautiful of the Trans-Pecos Mountains, now owned by Texas Parks & Wildlife, gifted to the people of Texas by the Mellon Foundation, but with access still denied to "we the people".
(my daughter-in-law visited Chinati Peak often as a child, her father, Frank Bartle, once owned it).
QS
had a feeling you would like it! I certainly enjoyed it and HAD to pass it on! interesting connection of Chinati Peak and your daughter-in-law!!!
