One of the kinda cool things about viewing who's online is you see threads you might otherwise have missed.

So, I'm reviving this one (at least briefly)...

This place looks very cool! Anyone been there? Taken a tour? Where exactly is this place?

The History page on http://www.circledugranch.com/ says the boundary of the ranch is a few miles west of Capote Falls.

Their web site lists their physical address as Candelaria, which means "The End of the Road" :icon_wink:  Might be some issues with Border Patrol just getting there.

Also, went throught their "Tours" menu, hasn't been updated for about 2 years.  I'd say a phone call or two before heading out would be a very good idea.

Gotta admit, that ranch sure hired one sharp webmaster.  Pages come up fast and appears to be well-organized.

yup, the web design is awesome...wish I'd done it.  Although, I'm a bit disappointed in the links section :(

Been to the Ranch a number of times including a couple of the meat cutting parties that lasted a couple of days.

Upon leaving Candelaria paved Hwy 170 ends within a mile or so.  Go left and you follow the river road to Polvo and eventually you end up on Hwy 90 near Lobo.

Go right and seems like about 15 gate openings and closings you end up at the Ranch.  Was a very unique experience and I am certain the new folks  are carrying on that tradition.

First met the Author of the book quoted on the website, Glen Justice, at a meat cutting.  Read and have a couple of his books.  The titles of the books escape me right now.  Justice was/is a professor at one of the colleges in Midland or Odessa.  Also, has a second home in the area.  His research in always first hand and very thorough.

Described my trip up the river road in a previous posting a couple of years back.
