Here is a link to daily high and low temperatures and rainfall in West Texas:

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/maf/cgi-bin/version.php?pil=RTPMAF&cwi=1&n=0

And here is a link to daily river levels in West Texas:

I use these links on those days when the Big Bend Daily Report is not issued.

Don't forget about Art Busby's page at http://www.geo.tcu.edu/BigBend/BigBend.html .  He actually had a link to one of my fledgling Big Bend sites back in '96.  It's broken now, but he's got even betters stuff going on.  Shazaam! Look who's at the top of his link list.

One more awesome area site!  VBB Interactive Map:
VisitBigBend.com has just released its newest feature, the Interactive Map.  This Google Map Mashup features tourism hotspots and points of interest in an easy to navigate interface. The map itself uses the Google Maps API to provide a backdrop of satellite imagery and road information. VisitBigBend.com hopes to give its tourism visitors detailed information about the most visited spots in the region.

Great website, but it needs updating.

Still lists the Heath Canyon motel as being open from the Stillwell Junction (Google Earth)

Lists Lajitas House which the link is busted.

POATRI - poatri.org has just released its new Property Tract Map system, covering thousands of acres of survey maps in West Texas.

POATRI uses the revolutionary WexZone Mapper software to place their property maps over a satellite imagery background, giving increased accuracy to their property owners.  The new map system also features local landmarks such as mountains, roads, gates, and waterways in an easy-to-use interface.

The property maps consist of survey maps made in the late 70s when the Land Development Organization was founded.  Each tract is labeled with a number and can be found by using the section and tract numbers in the drop-down menus at the top of the map interface.

This new map system gives property owners a bird's eye view of their property and its boundaries in a unique example of a Google Maps Mashup.  Finding your property has never been easier!

For more information on this system please visit:
http://www.poatri.org/tractmaps.html
