Riverside campsites?
« on: November 16, 2016, 09:26:00 AM »
Are they safe?  On the permit app it notes theft and destruction of property.  Is that just a disclaimer like the don't drink warning on Windex or would you not recommend those sites?
Thank you.

Generally speaking.  Safe yes.  Secure no. Some more than others.  Talk to the rangers.  I wouldn't plan on leaving your stuff at a primitive campsite on the river and to hike or drive off.

I would second what Al said. I had a great time camping at gravel pit 3 a few weeks ago. So close to the hot springs it was wonderful after a long day hiking.
