Which is the best/easier direction to drive, north-to-south or south-to-north?

6 in one, half a doze in the other really.  The south half is nothing but a piece of cake.  The north half is pretty rough.  It all depends if you want to go up hill or down hill.  Going South to North, you will go up the "grand" hill switchback. And vice versa.

something else to look out for that most people don't mention, when it's wet the clays on BG are especially slick.

Here's our trip(s) through Black Gap...  :icon_biggrin:

We drove our 01 Jeep Wrangler back and forth on the narrow section, shooting from a different angle each time - out the window, with a tripod strapped to the front light bar, from on top of the hill above the road, and even from ground level.  We edited the runs together into one single there and back again...

You don't travel to see different things,
You travel to see things differently.

Generally, going downhill will be easier on the vehicle as you can let the vehicle walk in 4LO when necessary and concentrate on where you are going, rather than powering up over obstacles.

However, regardless of direction, slow and deliberate wins out over fast and bent...every time.

Very nice! I like the editing. The shot at the end with the jeep going over the camera was particularly nice!

That's the shot that made me cringe. I predicted the jeep bouncing and the camera getting smashed. Brave, brave men.  :13:

Good fun.  I've yet to see 40 degrees.  That put it in perspective.
