Post by: _big_fern_ on September 21, 2018, 10:39:11 AM
I'm going to be arriving to Big Bend on Wednesday the 26th in a Lexus Rx330 (SUV) and I'm wondering what the conditions on Pine Canyon road are. I've heard there is a waterfall currently visible from the trail which is what inspired me make my return visit.Just hoping I can safely get to it.

I don't know for sure which waterfall you heard was flowing along the Pine Canyon trail. I'm guessing it's the pour off at the end of the trail.
Depending on rain there is a strong chance that pour off will not be flowing in five days. It may trickle for a few days after a major rain event, but, the waterfall period is short. The forecast doesn't call for much rain between now and the 26th.
Whether the pour off is flowing or not you should go and hike Pine Canyon it's beautiful. If you want to see a waterfall go to Cattail Falls
