Old Ore Road Condition
« on: March 20, 2019, 11:14:30 AM »
Hello everyone!

My first post here so be nice to me

I'll be out there next week and looking to explore Old Ore road and camp in one of the primitive sites.

Any road conditions I should be aware of?

4WD 4runner with locking diff and BFG KO2 tires.

Also, keep in mind that "desert pin-striping" is always a possibility on the unmaintained narrow roads of Big Bend country.  I have a few friends that kind of freak-out over the thought of scratches on their pretty paint jobs....

Iíve found that the pinstriping rubs right out, except when it doesnít.

Thanks everyone!

Pin-striping just adds character.  :icon_biggrin:

I'm looking forward to it.

That's exactly the right attitude!  When I did OOR a few weeks ago I added some new pinstripping on the passenger side of my truck just to make sure my passengers were paying attention . . .

I've got some of those that didn't rub out. I think most of them are from Paint Gap with a few from having to pull way over on Grapevine Hills due to congestion.

BBNP is one of the reasons I drive a white vehicle,  Any scratches are far less noticeable than with darker colors.
