RIVER ROAD RAMBLE (BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK)

Short post on bikepacking on BBNP roads. They ran into a Mercedes GXV that found the roads somewhat extreme.

I remember seeing this when it happened. Curious how much that cost 'em.

Very cool! I've started riding my bike again (250+ miles since 1 Jan) and have been contemplating something like this.

Thanks for posting!

Old Ore Road from its northern terminus to Hotsprings is a thing of joy 9n a bicycle.

Yeah, I'd like to try that sometime in the next few years.  Meanwhile, I love this photo from the OP.

As much grief as Texans get for their inept driving skills in the mountain states, I'd be remiss in failing to note the irony of what appears to be a Montana licensed vehicle overturning in a spot I've done in a minivan and the OP has done by bike.

i just have to point out licensing a vehicle in Montana is a way to avoid paying taxes on high dollar cars, so it's possible the owner hasn't been anywhere close to Montana  :icon_redface:
