Since sleeping in the back of a truck with a camper, will always be more colder than sleeping in a tent. Due to the fact there is more room to warm up, besides it is next to impossible to warm up an aluminum or fiber glass camper with your body heat. I too would suggest to camp instead in a tent. You could do as Terlingua50337 and lay it on top of the truck box, but i would suggest you put some sort insulation between you and that steel floor. Cardboard box, windshield reflective material, roll out upholestry, what ever works great for you. So as long as it does the job. Sleeping inside fo the tent alone, is much better because it does warm up a bit by the wicking action of your body heat thru your sleeping bag.

The whole purpose of going to BiBe is to do your thing whatever that is and experience the place not be constrained by the normal cares of life. Instead of the normal things that concern one, your survival instinct takes over. So if sleeping in a car, truck, or tent is your thing then go for it and enjoy the experience. For myself, being basic, I just throw a tarp down, my pad, and bag and fall asleep on the ground under the stars. I have been doing it for over 30 yrs and it is part of my experience. I have gotten wet, snowed on, blown around, but never had a critter on me or anything of a safety issue like that. Unlike some other parts of the country, you can do that at BiBe. (Other plarks are not that way, for instance in the Smokies, I sleep in the bed of my pickup with a tarp strung over me - never been cold, never been wet even in a 2" downpour. But on the ground I have had a skunk crawl on me, a 4" walking stick, and bear nearby so not a good idea.)Maybe I am lucky or dumb, but that is what I enjoy. Blissfully ignorant? Maybe so.You just need to find YOUR way!
Heck, for these kind of views I'd sleep in the back of a Yugo!Al
