Definitely use some sort of GPS if unformiliar with the Dodson or Juniper Trails. I got off quite a bit, but this saved my butt. Also, Id recommend wearing paints (not leggings) and/or Gators as the overgrown plants are unforgiving.

It gets like this after summer rains, you are about the first to go through there this fall and it will get beaten back in a few months.  Thanks for all the water reports!
temperatures exceed 100 degrees F
minimum 1 gallon water per person/day
no shade, no water

Ditto on the thanks.  Your reports are informing decisions.
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.
