This is rarely up to date, but MSN is showing prices in Fort Stockton above $2.38
MSN Gas Prices for Fort Stockton

Alpine isn't much better.

Study Butte had gas for $2.599 as of last Thursday.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/ doesn't have a lot of listings for gas in the area. :(
They have listings for Alpine, Fort Stockton, Marfa and Presidio but they aren't currently showing any prices.

I also posted these links here

I'd imagine it was pretty hard to find, as I didn't create it until after I responded here. :)  Seemed like a good place to put it.

Had a report from my hiking buddy that it was $1.90 @ Wallyworld in Tyler.  Still $2.2x here in East Texas.  Was still $2.xx in College Station.

Now, why do you suppose gasoline prices have come down so much from the $3.xx range - especially when oil closed @ $61.03 LSC today and $60.45 for Brent.

I would love Super for $2.15.  That is cheaper then reg unleaded here by my house.

Now Huisache... That is one of our favorite places to eat.  We Drive down from Austin to have dinner there time from time for great food.

This morning, the gas prices at PJ are:

Regular unleaded - $2.665
Plus -$2.725

By comparison, Study Butte Store typically has the cheapest prices.

The web listings are always for Big Bend Motor Inn. Even though Fina is the only brand available in the park, Study Butte Store, or the Motor Inn, prices vary. Study Butte Store typically will be several cents cheaper on gas.

Gas Prices...
« Reply #11 on: October 03, 2006, 11:17:41 AM »
The price is driven by two primary factors (excluding, of course, GREED!) delivery cost, and volume sold.  While PJ and RGV may not differ much in cost to get the fuel than Study Butte, their volume certainly is lower.  Although I do not like the price, I have occasionally needed gas when I was there (I mean REALLY needed gas!)  I always try to buy a little fuel when I am there, just to make sure that it will be there the next time I really need it.

Current prices in OKC, lowest stations are around $1.94.  Here in Kingfisher Love's is like a yo-yo... (regular unleaded)
  Monday  10:00 AM   $2.01
                2:00 PM    $1.99
  Tueday   8:00 AM    $2.05
For the last ten days or so they have changed prices twice a day.

The prices of the world's two most essential commodities, energy and food, are set by yahoos in Chicago who have never actually seen a cow, except in pictures, and think that the derrick on a windmill is an oil well.

Is this a great system or what!  :-)
Funny... I have a story about that...

The concessioner in the park has their prices set by current market values in the nearest "comparable area" - in this case it's somewhere like Roswell, New Mexico.

The folks who run Study Butte Store care about the local business and always attempt to keep prices lower than the Motor Inn or the park.
