Curious about this photo, could it have been snapped in Big Bend:

Looks like it was taken along a highway...don't recall seeing such a feature along any of the paved roads in Big Bend.  Wonder if this is on the road between Lajitas and Presidio?

I'm No Geologist

I'm no geologist, but the geology doesn't look right for the West TExas Trans Pecos Big Bend Region.  I've been up and down the road many times from Presidio to the park - but the picture could just be faded some, but the actual structure of the rocks don't look right - especially at the top.  When I first saw it, it looked like Egypt to me.  Perhaps out in the Western US somewhere - AZ, NV, etc.?

Good points...I thought at first glance, it was a pyramid.  Could be the Four Corners area out west?

I was thinking 4 corners, or further west myself.  Thanks for the replies!

Too Steep

It just looks to steep to me to be out there along the river road.  I'm continually looking for off-the-trail places to go do a day hike and our ATEAM really likes to climb peaks, and most of the time even the tallest stuff looks like it might be remotely possible.  That looks almost 90 degrees in places.

Reminds me of the Badlands in South Dakota.  It's been 12 years and I'd sure like to go back someday.

Just thought of another possibility...could this be near Zion National Park or Bryce Canyon?  The color of the formations looks like some of those in Zion...

Looks like a Michigan plate to me - one of the old blue ones.  Maybe it's BobCat?  Michigan, Min. - same thing   8)
