I love the little building at Davis Mtn State Park!  There are always a lot of birds hanging around.

I got to learn a lot about the hummingbirds in Big Bend from my high school biology teacher.  He spent a lot of time in Big Bend observing the hummingbirds and how they interacted with the flowering of century plants, and wrote several papers on the subject.  I believe one of them was his doctoral dissertation.

Might be a bit dry reading :)

I've spent too much time today watching the hummers jockey for position with the bees.

There have been a lot of bees lately. The hummers don't seem too afraid, but show some respect (or annoyance) for them.

Beautiful day for hummer action. I bet they'd get better video if they had only one feeder.

I think they have about 20 feeders on the property
