Christmas Mountain Road

Going back down the winding mountain road for Christmas Mountain.

Corazones Peak to the left in far background,  Rosillos to the right in the far background.

It can get a little creepy going up in a 2wd pick up.

Beautiful Photo. Makes me wish I was driving down that road right now. I've never been in the Christmas mountains - is that in the park or private property ?

Thanks....It's accessible with a reservation through the  Terlingua Ranch office.  But,  you have to be a member of the POA to make a reservation and sign a waiver.

I stayed at the lodge last year and did it, and am not a POATRI member. I do not think thatís a requirement unless things changed. If you are a POATRI member or are staying at the lodge, then you donít pay the $75 key deposit I believe (I donít remember paying it).

I couldíve sworn I took more photos up there, Iíll have to check. Hereís a few. Not really happy with the colors here, sorry for that.

You may be right! Maybe you just have to be a guest.    I don't pay a thing.

Great pics!

Here's my little contributions on the subject.
Back in 2014 we just made a reservation and signed waivers to head up the mountain.
I believe they restricted the vehicles to some of the smaller ones in our group and the number going up at one time.

Thanks guys!
I slacked on my video's last trip, as I was the trail leader.  It's hard to get out and get good footage all the time.
This Xmas will find me out in BBRSP up in the NW section with a group of friends.
A Jeep guy put out a fun video called Casa Ramon, that got my interest up in that section of the park.
Part of my itinerary is going to end our travel day at Terlingua Ranch, if we can get keys to the gate the next morning.  I want to take the folks up the mountain again.
