Okay, folks, voting ends in about two hours. Don't forget to vote!
To the soon-to-be winners, please read below:
CafePress Calendar Submission GuidelinesBasically, we'll need to get the edited images to Casa Grande (David). He can then upload them into his (the BBC) CafePress account and create the calendar project. It's pretty easy once the final image files are prepped and uploaded.
Preparing your images for the CafePress calendar needs to be done carefully. I've typed up some guidelines below. If you're comfortable editing your own photos (e.g. Photoshop), then please go for it. If you're NOT comfortable or do not want to bother following these guidelines, then I can help you.
I'll volunteer to accept unedited images and prep them for the calendar. You email me your unedited file, and I'll do the work and then email the edited and prepped version to CG. He can then insert the image into his calendar project within his BBC account on CafePress.Edit: Casa Grande has stepped forward and offered to do the processing and editing. Just send him your high-resolution pic. Thanks, CG!CafePress Calendar Submission Guidelines- Save images as high quality JPG files (e.g. 11 - 12 quality setting in Photoshop)
- Edit and save in sRGB color space
- Each final image must be 2300 x 1800 pixels
- Set ppi (dpi) to 200
The basic setup for each calendar page (does NOT apply to the cover image) is this:

It's basically a 2300 x 1800 pixel canvas (in Photoshop) with a 2300 x 1660 photo and a 2300 x 140 pixel white border at the bottom. The white border allows for the spiral binding and text.
* (the white border thing is my idea... CG, if you wish to have a different format, e.g. overlaying the text directly on the photo, then we could do that instead) *NOTE: each final 2300 x 1800 pixel image will be used to create a full bleed (i.e. printed edge-to-edge) page. There will be a 1/4" (50 pixel) border within the 2300 x 1800 frame that WILL NOT GET PRINTED. This is how full bleed works in the printing world - there's always a little extra along the edges in each image that will NOT appear in the final, printed product. The lower right corner of a sample image (from Photoshop) after it's been prepared for uploading:

Guidelines for Adding TextThe CafePress calendar creation program does NOT allow you to add text to provide the viewer info about the image on a particular page. Therefore, text will need to be added to the image itself (e.g. using Photoshop).
Here's what I did with my example/experiement calendar:
- Created a 140 pixel tall white border at the bottom for the purpose of adding text (this is all done within Photoshop).
- Position text so that the right end of the text is at least 100 pixels from the edge (remember that 50 pixels will get "eaten up" when the photo is applied to the
full bleed printing process).
- Position the top edge of the text so that it's about 3 or 4 pixels from the bottom edge of the actual photo image.
- Use New Times Roman font with a 10-point size
The format that I'd suggest would be: Descriptive Title, Date (month & year), Photographer

Blue Creek Canyon Sunset, September 2007, by TJ Avery
The Window at Sunset, June 1999, by Dopey Hiker
Cover ImageThe cover image can take up the full 2300 x 1800 pixel canvas, but descriptive text will need to be overlaid during editing (i.e. using Photoshop). Here's an example:

I'll leave that design up to CG. But I just wanted to point out that, again, the CafePress software does NOT allow you to add your own text to the cover or any of the images.
