Feb 5th Campsite Night Shot
« on: February 06, 2009, 10:48:27 PM »
Not a great shot but I like it.  This could be a "where am I" question?  It's an easy one.  Here we are preparing for the long hikes to our sleeping bags last night. . .

Ding, ding ding!  The weather was great.  Virtually no wind.  Highs were short pants comfortable and nights were nice and cold for good sleeping.  I'll post some more as time allows.

As an illustration of the high level of energy we put into this trip . . . here's a shot from 24 hours earlier.  Worshipers of the God of Infra-red Heaters once the sun goes down.

The Exif info says focal length pf 44.4mm. How does that translate to optical zoom? My Canon A720 has 6x optical zoom, but I can't get anything close to the resolution you have.

It was at max zoom which is the same as yours but it is 12 MP or so.  The clarity of the air no doubt helps.  The night of the 31st, although the 5th was OK, was as good as I remember seeing.  The stars were so bright you had to wear shades . . .

Here we are blending in with other vehicles in the PJ parking lot . . . although that white pickup doesn't have enough stuff for us.
