Graves and Cemeteries
« on: March 23, 2017, 06:47:06 PM »
A little project that I've had in the back of my mind for a couple of years... collecting photos and video of graves and cemeteries around the Bend. I finally collected enough content to publish a video...

Remember to turn the volume up as loud as you can stand it, then crank it some more! If it does not kill your ears, it makes them stronger...

Very nicely done. I wonder who maintains the cemeteries, they seem well kept.

I roamed and rambled, and I foller'ed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was a'sounding
This land was made for you and me

Enjoyed it very much!  I always enjoy your videos and the music you produce.  What was the inspiration of searching out these places?  It is a definite shift from your climbing.

Another great video! Your eye for photography and creative editing always produce great work. The cemeteries really capture the loneliness and harshness of bb

Great work! What video editing software do you use?
Pile of rocks for a grave: are those shallow graves - ground too hard to dig?

A video like this always begins with the song. It will be a song that really I like and that is topical. Then I'll start collecting the topical content until I have enough to produce the video.

No. I went out there one day, but didn't have a map or coordinates and I couldn't find it.

I reckon so. Maybe the rocks make it harder for the critters to dig in.
The video editor I use is Pinnacle Studio - been using it for a long time. But since much of the content is photos, Lightroom is used to create the photo content. Then I have some homemade software for effects that Pinnacle doesn't do.

Thanks. And I should give a shout-out to Lance for providing the GPS coords for most of these sites, otherwise I would never have found them all !

First time I went out there we ended up on the wrong ridge, but we eventually found it. The next 2 trips i made out there were a lot easier once you know where it's at. There is a weather station not far from it, or some type of sensor/monitoring device
