Watching Peregrine Falcons on South Rim
« on: September 12, 2006, 03:22:09 PM »
From a ridge near the (South Rim) NE4 site we were lucky enough to watch two golden eagles make a couple of passes both above and below us.    There were also three peregrine falcons that continously circled the mountain together.  They must have made five or six passes just after sunset.  This picture is one of three peregrines that had just swooped right over my head.

Jeff!  Now that is one heck of a shot...
The hat just adds to the character of the shot.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it was great, words and pictures can't describe.  David, I thought of you when I saw the Golden Eagles soaring, remembering the injured eagle.  I thought you'd like to see these eagles flying as high as ever!  Unfortunately we couldn't get them to slow down for a picture.
