.......somewhere near Burro Mesa? Or at the site of a recently murdered cephalopod?

Anybody know why there would be an electrical box set into the stone of the fireplace? Certainly they didn't have electricity out there back then did they?

According to John Jameson's "The Story of Big Bend National Park", the Rio Grande Electric Cooperative began generating power to most of the park in 1953.  Rio Grande Village didn't get power until 1960.  Castolon got power the following year.

Quote from: http://www.forgottenfrontiers.com/big-bend-revealed
Dorgan and his wife Avis abandoned the property in 1943.

I'm thinking they had a generator?

Where might Flash be?  :eusa_think:

I'm guessing this is the big pouroff on Vernon Bailey facing into the Basin around here:

Alas, but not Burro Mesa.  Was that where Arrival was filmed?

Winner goes to Lance. Photo taken from the sewer plant road, but yes that is a wet weather waterfall on the side of Vernon Bailey.  It has multiple catch basins coming down the side of the mountain.

Your turn, Lance!

Could be, I just thought that Marathon might be the closest place for refined fuel that a generator might be unlikely, however there are several model A ruins in the park so fuel must have been available somewhere.
Sorry for the topic diversion. (Kinda embarrassed  :-[  that I would do that on my favorite thread, but I'll get over it.  :icon_rolleyes: )

It might have been the cave from the story in Parent's book. I'm not exactly sure. I call it the "Mule Ears Cave".

Also, there's a couple of holes above that cave that look like eyes, right?

Note to the Rules Committee (i.e. FartyMarty?):  I forgot to scrub the location info from my last photo before posting it. I reckon if a poster forgets, then using the lat/long from the photo is fair game! Right?  ;)

*Yes that is fair game! Mr. L. Parent even did that once in the Guadalupe Mountain section I believe.

However!...the following is not allowed by the rules committee because it usually causes thread death or at least thread coma!

Steel wouldn't mind being up, but forgot how to post pics and so, Steel passes...
Passing is not allowed, just relearn how to post photos and go for it!

I'll find one from your pics and post it for you..

Mercy posting for another is allowed. Thanks for stepping up.  :great:
* I'm not officially the rules committee, but I'll fill in since Chisos Muse and BigBendHiker (they started the two where am I ? threads) are now "Guests", of course I can always be overruled
by the site owner and his intrepid moderator so it ever seems that I'm not fair be sure to appeal to them.
:)
