Allied Vans moving van on Basin road?
« on: February 23, 2007, 11:11:53 PM »
I was at the park all week last week (2/11-2/17) and there was this moving van in the pullout on the Basin Road, the one on the right just as it starts up from the park road. It's piqued my interest; is someone moving, and the moving company didn't realize they couldn't take it into the Basin, or what?
I'll hang up and listen.

There are residences in the Basin and if someone is moving in/out a moving van would most certainly be making the trip. The trailer length recommendation you see posted is just that....a recommendation. Doesn't mean something larger can't go there.

From what I gather, in talking to a vol. up at the Basin Campground who had a huge class A motorhome that was a Brazillion feet long, in order to get it up to the Basin Campground, "they" closed off the Basin road to traffic so that he could take up both lanes in getting up there.  I still don't see how he got that thing up there, nor do I know how he got it backed into the small spot, but he sure did.
