FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTHERN BREWSTER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS...

* UNTIL 1015 PM CDT

* AT 620 PM CDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED FLASH FLOODING FROM A NEARLY STATIONARY THUNDERSTORM OVER THE CHISOS BASIN AREA OF BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK. VERY HEAVY RAIN IS FALLING WITH THIS STORM... LIKELY LEADING TO LOCALIZED AREAS OF FLASH FLOODING.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO TERLINGUA RANCH LODGE... TERLINGUA... STUDY BUTTE... PANTHER JUNCTION AND CHISOS BASIN.

Looks like PJ and the South Rim got bypassed by this one. Maybe that little storm cloud will move a bit and spread some of that rain around.

And... it's only 65F in the basin.  Sure would like to trade those temps with 95F we have right now!

I bet all the flora and fauna are sighing with relief.

More than 1" in PJ and on the Rim....about 1/2" in the Basin......so far. Looks like a good chance of more tomorrow.

Maybe too much of a good thing.  I think this is coming from a tropical depression that popped up in the Pacific a couple of days ago.  Don't need a repeat of last fall...

Looks like about an inch fell in the basin yesterday around 4PM. There goes the web cam for a while.
