Big Bend NP CLOSED!
« on: October 01, 2013, 12:47:04 PM »
I just called the BBNP and because of the Government Shutdown all NP's are closed. Including BB...The park ranger I spoke said that all gates which give entrance to BBNP are CLOSED. There is no way to get into the park, I was told.

It must be terrible for the employees. We're scheduled to visit BBNP in 2 weeks (two full days, Oct. the 14th and 15th).

Should we cancel our visit to BB altogether? :icon_frown:

This may have all blown over by then. I would try not to over react. A lot of this is theatre and we all are the audience.

Things could literally change in a day so I wouldn't cancel until the last minute that you can tolerate

If other countries on the planet want to see America suffer and ultimately destroyed, who are they cheering for right now?  Trump, or the leftist democrats and their media supported hate machine?

Seek out the facts for yourself.  Begin by using Startpage.com,  not google.

May God Bless America!

Looks like the GOP is trying to get the NP's open as soon as possible:

Hopefully this dog and pony show blows over quickly.

So much for that.  Obama says he'll veto it.

It's kind of interesting that when they locked out the WWII Vets they already had signs to hang on the barrier

Funny, even though the federal government is "shutdown", the web servers are still running and they even have specially-made messages.  :eusa_think:

Yep, it's closed with ROAD CLOSED barricades blocking the way in. I was at the west entrance by the big park sign, Oct. 1.

This sucks!

I'm thinking that the park can't close designated through Hwys just because of funding problems (safety yes, money no).

Oh heck, I'm wrong again.  :icon_redface:

Oh well, Thanks for the on scene report tj! I'm sorry you have to be the one there to see it.
