1st trip - last week
« on: March 28, 2009, 10:07:45 PM »
This was originally planned as a trip to GOMO, but at the very last minute we decided on BB Ranch. Since we (my buddy and his grown son) hadn't been to either place, it was all good.
This place is unbelievable. We were told by park personel that the park was "full" and "at capacity" . Apparently capacity is about 4 people, we never saw another soul or vehicle off the main road in 4 days/5 nights.
Rather than attach pictures here, you can go to:  http://acapizzo.zenfolio.com/p625680273.
This should go straight to the Big Bend Ranch folder, if it doesn't start with the home page and then open that folder.

Its a beautiful place, and we're planning a return trip already.

Great pictures, thanks for posting them.  Where were those shots of the larger looking canyon?
temperatures exceed 100 degrees F
minimum 1 gallon water per person/day

Cindy and I will be there 4/10-12.  We've driven from the BB to Presidio but never made it to the interior of the SP.  From your pictures, we have a lot to look forward to - thanks for posting them.  Are there any particular hikes or back road drives you'd recommend?

Thanks for the pictures, alcap: Beautiful

More hiking possibilities in Big Bend Ranch, wow
Moving in silent desperation
Keeping an eye on the holy land
A hypothetical destination
Say, who is this walking man?

Thanks everyone, glad you all enjoyed the pictures.
The large, deep canyon is called Oso Canyon, most taken from the Guale trailhead, some from the Guale 2 campsite.
We only saw a tiny portion of the park, I'm pretty sure you can spend years getting to know it all.
Thats my plan !!

I was wondering if I should post a pic or two on the BB photo page, or is that for BBNP only?

Again thanks for your comments. Ya'll have got to see this place.
