Back Where I Belong
« on: April 19, 2011, 09:06:22 AM »
After a year-long foray among the national park heavies, I'm heading back to the "Ranch."

I'm in the early stages of planning winter hike back to Rancherias Springs via the Javelin trail head.

This is the North leg of the Rancherias Loop. I will do an out and back from Javelin with 2 nights near the springs. This time I want to hike up to the Guale mesa and have a look see. I hear tell of a cave near there with Indian pictographs on the ceiling. I know some of you have been there but I need more than rumors. As TWWG will tell you, I could get lost picking dewberries. I use a map, compass, and GPS just to find my way around.

What I need are GPS coordinates for this cave that I can plug into my receiver. I don't care how you get them. If you can locate the cave with decent accuracy in Google Earth, I'll go with that. Or better yet, trace the route from a known landmark and send me the .kmz file.
