Title: BBRSP hours
Post by: Hang10er on October 28, 2013, 11:45:26 AM
Is there a gate into BBRSP?  If so, does anyone know the hours?  Looking at my drive times I'm not sure how early we will be arriving.  I'd hate to be locked out.

Thanks,
Henry

It's been over a decade since I've been in BBRSP, so my memory's a bit fuzzy.  :icon_redface: I believe they used to keep it gated and you had to get the combo to the lock at Ft. Leaton or the Barton Warnock center. However, the website doesn't say anything about that, so I hope it has changed. Why not give them a call and find out for sure?

When I talked to them recently, they said they really wanted me to check in at Barton Warnock (the direction we'd be coming from) before 4PM, but if we wouldn't be able to do so then they had alternate methods available. I didn't ask for the beginning time or the alternates as this was easily doable for us.

As Barton Warnock's hours are 8-4:30, I would assume they were trying to keep it between those hours, giving us 30 minutes get through the check in before they were leaving. Sauceda's hours are 8 AM-6PM.

As such, I'd think any arrival planned before 8 AM should be cleared in advance to make sure there are no difficulties.

There is no gate to the park. Reservations can be made in advance by calling. If you do not have a reservation and you arrive after hours, you can camp at Botella (the park entrance).

We have reservations for La Posta camp site and I will call the park about a week before we go.  I just didn't want to get there too late in the evening and find some gate to get into the park closed and locked.

24 days!
