Hopefully, this link will work for everyone.  The State Park will swap some land with a neighboring ranch (not John Poindexter), resulting in a net gain of 587 acres.

Just curious, the article stated that public access from the north in that direction "remains up in the air"
I see there is a road that branches off 67 (hwy 169) and turns into Casa Piedra road, according to google maps.
Is that road blocked or private?
