Greetings.

Is there a day hike that is a good introduction to BBRSP?
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.

In terms of diversity, views, accessibility, and ease of access, it is hard to beat the Fresno Divide. It is one of the few truly hand-built trails in the front country and it provides excellent views of the Bofecillos, Fresno Canyon, Contrabando Dome, and the Flat Irons of the Solitario,... all within a 6.4 miles out-and-back. It can be tied together with the Contrabando Dome trails or out to the mines and Fresno Canyon for a longer loop.

See the following links for more in-depth recent trail descriptions:

Is the Fresno Divide Loop better clockwise or CCW when hiking? The following shows CCW for biking:

Gracias!

I am so proud of my wife.  She is hitting the treadmill at the gym to be able to enjoy these trails.

I would say that the Fresno Divide is best done as an out-and-back hike starting in the clockwise direction. The views are varied enough in either direction that it will feel like a loop.
