Overall a pleasant morning, a bit chilly and calm.  Took a 2 min. hike up above a little rise to the north of the campsite for the next shot.  The black & red "thing" you see on the right in the parking area is the base & mount for my telescope.  I just ran out of time last night at sunset.

We did have a visitor mid day, perhaps she wanted to do lunch?  :eusa_whistle:  She didn't stick around long...

Thanks all for the nice comments!  :notworthy:

We did not see any hikers... just the Ranger, "Blaine" trudging along in the white 4X4 Surburban.

Great pics, but would you mind reducing the file size of any future pictures before uploading to the gallery? I resized all of the ones you already uploaded by opening them with an old version of Micro$oft Paint and saving them, which effectively stripped out lots of data while leaving the pixel size and resolution intact (or close to it). This will not only save file server space but make the page load much faster.

Check out the Image Resizer topic for more info.

Ranbow cactus

We were in BBRSP March 16-19; may have pics of the same sunsets!  Lots of coyote there.  Went to Fresno Canyon and have a nice wide angle of the flatirons and Fresno Peak, etc.  Ran into some scorpions, some lizards, etc.  Impressive variety of cacti there.  Good trip and I WILL be back.  BTW, shout out to the best ranger I have ever met (and I've met some good ones) Barret Durst.  Great guy!

I apologize for the file size, I was basing the uploads purely on the < 2400 pixel suggestion.
Regards!!!

That's not a mount, NT...it's a MOUNT! What scope, or imaging stuff, do you put on that bad boy? Either way, can't get much better than west TX for dark skies.
