Probably not a surprise to anyone, but I REALLY like that sunset picture with the windmill!

Lonely windmill

Wide open spaces

The sunset kept changing. It was one of the best I've seen.

If you go to Flickr and zoom in enough you can see the Chisos and Elephant's Tusk. This from the *State* park 35 miles away!

Chorro Vista again

Contrabando

A quiet photo of the Davis Mountains

Chorro yet again. Repetitive but I just loved the morning.

He was just ambling along.

Don't know what it is about those silhouettes but I love 'em.

This was the morning after the 35 mile + view. A dust storm blew in overnight....

Setting out for a short hike in the dust.

And there's no ice to be had.

By the light of the full moon.

Gotta love Guale Mesa

I scrambled a ways up a hill behind La Mota campsite.

Sort of a layer cake.

We were a week or two early for the best of the blooms but this was a pretty patch.

Rising over the ridge between Upper and Lower Madera.

Chorro Vista yet again. I was having too much fun with the fisheye. :)

At Guale Mesa

Chorro Vista. I'm done apologizing for being repetitive! ;)

About the same view as the dusty hike shot earlier except for the dust!

Prickly Chorro Vista

Hope you brought enough water!

That's about it for this trip. I think BBRSP is absolutely worth the effort it takes to visit.

Till next time, y'all!

Again - partial to the windmill pictures, but they are all great!

Really great photos! You've got a good knack for getting nice light. It's great to see the state park like this.

Thanks, TJ! It helps (as you well know) to spend a week at it and have a camping buddy who also shoots; we were up for every sunrise, moonrise, sunset, and moonset. And were delightfully exhausted at the end of the week. Thankfully this year we were blessed with non-clear skies too.
