Need some trail suggestions
« on: January 30, 2019, 07:46:55 AM »
During my upcoming trip over spring break (taking my 13 yo, the other kid can't live without cell service...), I would like to spend some time in the state park.  Not counting several drives on 170, this will be our second trip.  We've already done the Hoodoos.  Closed Canyon is on my list.  What are some other reasonable trails (not strenuous or too long) that are accessible from the main park road? The most strenuous trail I've done is Lost Mine, which was rough.  Granted, I've lost over 80lbs since then, so I'm hoping that wouldn't be nearly as hard on me this time. I'd like to spend some more time inside the park, I enjoyed the drive through I did back at the end of 2017.

The Fresno Divide trail is another option off the West Contrabando TH and it is a lovely trail that makes for a great day hike. It is often hiked as an out and back of a little less than seven miles, though one could turn around at any time.

Ojito Adentro is a short hike of the main park interior road.
