The release from Luis Leon reservoir in Mexico is making its way to the Park. Thanks for the tip from Richard M.

have you done the "lower canyons"?
QS

No, but it is very high on my "to do" list.  So high, in fact, that Louis Albach's "The Lower Canyons of the Rio Grande" sits proudly in the basket of books/magazines next to my commode! :icon_wink:  It's purely a matter of getting 8 days off from work/family obligations.

Have you done it?

For this release, I am hoping to make it out there next weekend for a run down Colorado Canyon.

Today's BIBE morning report states the flows should exceed 1500 cfs for the next 2 to 3 weeks.   8)

That is going to be one fast ride, you could probably do it twice in one day!

I anxiously await your trip report. Good Luck!

The Rio Grande is flowing pretty low from the Taos area.  I took this picture on Friday from the Rio Grande Gorge bridge when returning from Idaho....

That's a big change from July 1. I shot this from the edge of the water and I've never seen it this low.

Just got back.  We hit Colorado Canyon, and the water was running at around 1900 cfs and rising.  Weather was awesome. Lots of rain clouds kept the temps in the low 90s.  Full report to follow.
