Reservations
« on: November 27, 2010, 04:35:25 PM »
I am planning my second trip to BIBE, basically same time as last year. Dec 20-27. I really liked staying at Cottonwood, and wondering if there's any reason to make a tentative reservation elsewhere (RGV most likely)
I checked and there are plenty of spaces available. Should I be prudent and plan for a crowd? I know there are also non-reservable campsites  in all areas. I could always camp in one of the primitive camps off one of the drivable back roads.  I'll be dayhiking. Any thoughts?

Thanks up front,
leigh

Leigh, you should be fine arriving the 20th.  It's those who arrive Christmas Day or later who will have problems.

I am planning on arriving around December 27th.  I will most likely car camp.  Do you think I would have to be concerned about available car camping sites?

Most likely you will have problems getting the sites you want if you arrive the 27th.  We shifted our trip from between Christmas and New Years to late Jan or early Feb about five years ago, because it was getting too hard to get the sites we wanted arriving on the 26th.  The good news is you will most likely have to go to a relatively remote site down Old Ore or River Rd and enjoy your off-road cruise machine!  Worse case you can do some real camping and Zone camp!
