2011 Calendar Nominations
« on: October 24, 2010, 08:03:09 PM »
I'm probably a little late kicking this off. :icon_redface:

Please post your own nominations. Keep in mind that the photos that will work best for the calendar should look good when displayed at about a 3:2 to 4:3 aspect ratio (i.e. panoramics probably won't work well). Please pick those in a horizontal (landscape) format.

I haven't decided on a timetable for when we'll vote, much less when the calendar will get put together and made available for orders. In the meantime, start digging through all those great Big Bend pictures and let the nominations begin!

Update: Deadline for nominations is midnight, November 10.

Here are my favorite images taken over this past 12 months.  I haven't processed the images from the trip I just returned from last night.  These are all cropped to the 4x5/8x10/16x20 size format.  If you need to see them in a different size, just let know.

December 2010

April 2010

This one is has more red due to my GND filter having a color cast that it wasn't supposed to have, being a graduated 'Nuetral' density filter.  I tried to get rid of the color cast, but had no such luck.  However, it is just too darn pretty to throw away!  I'll let yall decide!!!

Those are sickeningly good MOT.  You could make your own calendar.  Plus that would give the rest of us a chance to get a pic in the chat calendar.   :icon_biggrin:

Thanks AggieHiker!  Actually, I am hoping to get another trip in before the end of the year to try to put something together for my friends and family, but I think I will need another year of visits before I get there.

Plus that would give the rest of us a chance to get a pic in the chat calendar.   :icon_biggrin:

Haha, now that is funny!!!  There is such an abundance of awesome photographers in BBC that I would be thrilled to even have one picked!!!  I just posted quick so as to get a chance. :icon_biggrin:

I'm going to make a suggestion that is probably too difficult to deal with but since there are a LARGE number of really GREAT photos posted here: what if we somehow figured out how to give the calender a theme?

Perhaps four or five themes could be nominated and then pictures could be recommended under each theme and may the best theme win! Plus we are ahead of the game for next year, etc.  Just a thought.

Thanks to my inattention, we're already behind schedule on the 2011 calendar. Suggest this again next year, say in September or so.

Richard, fair enough.  Either it sticks to the wall or it doesn't.

Keep doing that voodoo that you do so well!

This thread is for any BBC member.  I, for one, am anything but a professional.  :icon_biggrin:

Great shots Rosco!  If you use the 'img' tags instead of 'url', the photos will show in here:

The last two years we have put together a calendar of Big Bend photos posted here on bigbendchat. The primary requirement is that they have to have been taken by a bigbendchat member. This topic is for members to nominate pictures, either their own or someone else's. After I figure out the deadline for nominations, we'll then vote on which of the nominated pictures go in the 2011 calendar.

Right-click on the image in Facebook and post the URL inside [img][/img] tags.
Or just post the URLs to the images and I'll come along and fix it. :ranger:
