Seems that FireFox 3.5.1 is having 'stability" issues?

I don't know about 'stability", but it's definitely not bug free.I hate having to reset the bookmarks toolbar every time I open it. And for some reason, cookies haven't been working right for the past few versions. It doesn't matter how many times I select the "Always stay logged in" button, it never works.

Firefox automatically updates itself every few months, with no input from me.  Doesn't sound like I should be in a hurry.  I'll try to remember to let you know when it updates to a 3.5 version.

I'm still on 3.0.12 myself and I've been a big Firefox fan for years, but I gotta admit, I'm getting less than pleased with it as of late.  It's a big memory hog sometimes and crashes on occasion.  I have not tried 3.5 yet and it sounds like I'm not going to anytime soon.  I love Google Chrome, but many plugins that I use in Firefox pretty regularly are not available on Chrome.  Hopefully they will become available in Chrome soon.  When that happens, I plan on defecting.

I have practically ditched IE and instead have hooked up with GC,but i was trying to find a way to use my bookmarks that i have stored in Yahoo, looks as though Google only has that option for Internet Explorer and Firefox... :icon_frown:,maybe until they come out they will have this covered. Still an excellent navigator, but maybe i am the only one who "boasts" having GC crashed on me,twice. :icon_rolleyes:

I use Chrome a lot now too, but it is a memory hog as well.  Of course the amount of memory consumed by your browser is directly related to the content you are browsing.  I have found though that Chrome doesn't always give back the memory once you close a tab, which kinda irks me.

Getting worse and worse with FireFox  :icon_evil:
Seems as if quite a few folks are getting the error that I'm getting.  Firefox is now crashing approx. 10 times per day at least.     (I'm already at #9 crash today and it's only 14:09)

Exception Access Violation.
Searching the Wild West Web - seems to be a common issue with FireFox 3.5 amongst a host of people.

If you want information on an error, you can type "about:crashes" in the address bar w/o the quotes and it will give you the history of your crashes and more information.

I do use IE 7 (8 has too many issues with it - already been down that road)
FireFox - even though it crashes, I still use it due to some specific add-ons
Chrome - doesn't have enough "power" yet and there are a host of websites that I use that will not support Chrome - the pages come up and say your browser is not supported...

I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 at home most of the time. Haven't had many crashes that I recall. If you're getting that many crashes it may be time to start ditching some of your add-ons and extensions to see if that fixes it.

I still have a problem with cookies not working right. It doesn't matter how many times I select the "stay logged in" box, it always logs me out when I close the browser. :icon_rolleyes: This started happening a few updates ago. It also screws up my bookmarks toolbar, making the Google search box take up most of the width of the bar. I usually disable it under View, then enable and it's back to normal. Minor irritation.

This is the first time i have read this issue with Chrome, the only thing i miss are the Bookmarks,I still can't import-use them from Yahoo.

Thank you for the suggestion.  In fact, that's just what I did when the issue reared it's ugly head.  I uninstalled FireFox, did a registry clear, deleted everything on the harddrive with FireFox or Mozella in it, did an IML, then reinstalled FireFox and tried running it with no add-ins.  Negative - crashed just the same.  Looking at the error logs and posts of others @ Mozella - others have tried the same thing and it keeps crashing and burning - seems independent of the OS (VISTA, XP) and maybe more related to the chipset or memory in use.  I'm running 4gb so the size of the memory shouldn't be an issue.

Doesn't happen often, but I have ran into it several times - in fact yesterday when I was online trying to secure individual health insurance and fill out the Brazillian of pages of application forms.  (I'm one of the 47 million Americans trying to obtain affordable health and RX and dental and vision coverage).

At least you have a choice of browsers.  Most of you don't have to use Photoshop CS4.  It's been one of the most difficult to install (on a new, very fast, clean computer), most unstable programs I've ever used.  It freezes several times per day.  The freezes can take 5-10 minutes to undo.  And yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it without any change in behaviour.  Basically it is a beta version rushed to market by the accountants.  Stick with CS3 if you can.
