You can now upload your very own avatar to your profile!  If you don't know what that is, just look at my ugly mug to the left, that is an avatar. Upload your own (must be under 6kb and 80 x 80 max), or submit a URL.  Just go to your profile and scroll to the bottom of your screen to submit your avatar.  I'll be creating some generic ones and uploading them to the gallery shortly. You may use them if you wish!

enjoy,
david

Thanks David, I was wondering if you were going to enable that feature.

If you see me in Big Bend wearing this goofy hat, that means I lost or forgot mine and had to borrow my Dad's....again. (Tillie hat avatar removed to protect my dignity)

P.S. The Windows XP PowerToy Image Resizer is highly useful for getting your avatar image file down to 80x80 and under 6Kb:

The avatar names are representative of how many posts you've submitted.  Something to keep the webmaster amused.  :)

ah-hm.....yes, i'll admit, it is amusing...however, of course they are meant to encourage posting...no one wants to be a field mouse or even a jackrabbit.

Just as an FYI:

1 post = Kangaroo Rat
5 posts = Jack Rabbit
10 posts = Roadrunner
20 posts = Diamondback
50 posts = Black Bear
100 posts = Mountain Lion

Golden Eagle is only mine...makes me feel superior  :P

As time goes by, i'm sure these will change.  The number of required posts will increase as time goes by. They are low right now because the board is new and we don't want everyone to be an ant for the next 6 months!

More animals will be added as the number of posts grow too!

enjoy....

Current levels (as of 3/11/2010):
0 Newbie
10 Kangaroo Rat
40 Jack Rabbit
70 Roadrunner
100 Diamondback
200 Black Bear
500 Mountain Lion

NOT SURE...
« Reply #7 on: January 12, 2006, 01:52:19 PM »
Not sure about this, it takes some of the mystery away from it - what does xyz person really look like?  Do I really want to know?   Have to cogitate on this - search around for a really "adventuresome" picture of mine - or put up a "dummy" photo and most will not be the wiser...

Ok, I relented.  Posted my Avatar.  My Mug.  TDC wouldn't release my prison mug shot  , so I posted this instead. (Yea, I served 10 years in TDC for killing six campers @ BBNP  )  Picture Taken late December 2003 @ Big Bend Ranch State Park on the Madrid Falls tour.  I'm 20x lbs lighter now  8) .  Funny, I seem to be the official camera person on all my Adventure Team trips.  The only time that I'm ever in a picture is when I set the camera and take it myself.  (Maybe they are afraid of breaking their camera???   )    8)  8)  8)

CUTE!

Cute.  How about Doc Holliday the wonder Min-Pin - loves to play cards, drink good scotch - single malt if someone else is buying otherwise Dewars 12 year old, and of course chase the women, - even though he has been "broken" - aka fixed.   He's never made it to Big Bend region - too afraid of what the cactus would do to him when he lifts that leg.
