Merit Badges
« on: October 27, 2007, 01:45:25 PM »
Being an old boy scout myself, I thought I would add some "merit badges" that you can now proudly display in your profile and along with your profile summary on your posts.

Simply go to your profile's settings and scroll to the bottom where you will find the following fields:

Check mark the box(es) that apply to you and your "merit badge" will be proudly displayed along with your mini-profile on your posts...(this is an on-your-honor merit of course ;) )  More merits coming....

Ofcourse, i can't apply for any of the badges. Being the errant soul of the webpage and my sightings and trails have been on the mexican side... i will add just these ones.

If they don't apply...well. I will take them off, right away.

LOL...why am I picturing half the page being taken up by rows upon rows of mini icons? :eusa_whistle:

On a somewhat serious note...perhaps if the mini Casa Grande icon were a bit darker, it would show more definition? And if I can add my own 5 cents.....a little canoe for those of us who have floated some o dem canyons? Many people who have been to BIBE varios times over many years have never taken a river trip....and I highly suggest it!

What we really need is an icon for those who braved the perils of an open border and went to Boquillas and Santa Elena. Of course, since you can no longer go (legally) not everyone will have an opportunity to claim this badge but that's not a reason to not have it. The most disappointed will be those who could have earlier made the trip but never did.

all great ideas....

These will be added:
1. Canoe - for those who have "sailed" all three major canyons
2. OML - for those who have done the OML (I'll get this one in Jan :) )
3. Mexico - for those who have been to both Santa Elena (the town) and Boquillas (the town).
4. Colima Warbler - for those who have seen one
5. Peregrine Falcon - for those who have seen one

any other ideas?
