New Features, Etc....

Ok, fellow Benders....

There are a couple of things I'd like to address. 

First, the home page is now a portal for all things Big Bend.  The goal is to have a one page stop for all things Big Bend.  Currently on the left of the screen, you can see (advertising for reg members and guests),  a Live Doppler Radar of the area, Big Bend,  Weather, and the Current Moon Phase.

In the center, Recent Posts, a welcome section, and any other important announcements. And on the right, the most currently added links to the Links section, a random image from the Gallery, a live shot of the Window (when it works), current gas prices in the Bend, Big Bend News from Google news, and special links to areas of the board (currently links to free screensaver pages). 

On all other pages, at the top you will see the most recently added gallery images from members.    This is to show off member's pictures and encourages others to post their own.

If you should have any ideas, feel free to post them here or here.  I really like some of the ideas already presented! Keep them coming!

I've added You Tube videos on the front page featuring Big Bend....You can click on a thumbnail to view the video right on the front page without leaving the site...ah, at last

David, I really like how you used the Home Page to increase the size of the listing of most recent posts.  Excellent improvement!

Another feature of the home page....a link to the daily report that is displayed on the site...no PDF plugin is necessary....

Another cool feature in 09 would be to add the BBC calendar pics to their respective months... That would be pretty sweet! :) And maybe the pic could link to the calendar sales link or something like that!
