Web Snap thing!

Maybe I'm the only one, but that new Web Snap thing is kind of irritating. If it is a revenue generator for CG, I'm OK with it, but if not .... :vomit: :vomit: :vomit:

web snap allows you to preview website links embedded into a post by simply hovering over the link instead of clicking over and loading the whole thing thus saving time if it's not what you thought it was:

Virtual Big Bend

as opposed to http://www.virtualbigbend.com

and, no, it has nothing to do with a slow site....that is either, my server, my database, your ISP, your router, your computer, etc. etc.

So far today, all I've seen is empty boxes like this:

http://xs123.xs.to/xs123/08042/linkpopup133.jpg

The ViurtualBigBend preview is the only one in the database for the external site that provides the previews for all of the links I've seen today.  It'd be nice if it only popped up the box if it had a preview available.

I cannot really see the web page because it is way to small using Web Snap. I use CoolIris for Firefox so the Web Snap is redundant and not as efficient for me.

I started seeing the Web Snap with empty boxes like cjacob, but now I see a very small webpage in the box. It took a few moments to load.

I'm now seeing previews for lots of the links that previously had blank previews.  Not a terrible feature when it works, kinda sucky when it doesn't.  :icon_cool:

It does take a couple of seconds for the snapshot to load.  I'm on wireless that is equivalent to the slow end of DSL.

I apologize, I meant Randall, who displayed the empty box in his post. Got the wrong name by mistake.

No worries.  Just stating fact I am challanged when it comes to this.  I will soon learn and become dangerous.
