I've really cut down my coffee consumption, but when I was a big coffee drinker I'd take a French press on car camping trips.  I'd grind the beans at home, and then all I needed was boiling water. It made a very good 4 or 5 cups.

Now that I only drink coffee on an occasional basis, when I do drink it I really notice the effects of the caffeine -

As I sit here and type I'm sipping on a steaming cup of Kona Blend coffee that I ground at home.          

In the R2D2, although you didn't get to experience it at the Basin group meeting due to not using the generator to avoid disturbing others, yea, it was a generator ok area for certain hours, it still seemed "rude" to use.  On a normal R2D2 trip with generator - hot steeming coffee out of the electric coffee pot.  But, those little folgers "coffee bags" work great and also on the trail when backpacking - all you need is a little hot water.  I've found you can get  two or three cups out of a single bag.     I like to start the morning with a cup of java (I'd have said cup of joe, but someone probably would have misconstrued that meaning :lol: ) I also sometimes like a cup of decaf before bed.
