Ok, I finally relented and joined the real world and got super duper high speed internet access via. cable and setup a wireless network.  Got all the wireless aceess points configured and working - real pain when you have a Brazillion levels of security and firewalls.  Finally, now I can check out all the movies and massive pictures that people post.   I'm taking some web based graduate courses this spring and dial up just wasn't going to cut it.   :P

Cool!  The download speeds on a cable modem or DSL are really nice!  You will love it!

Yea, I've got sliced bread.  But just heard about the new method of warming up the sandwiches - the "Homero" method...

I resisted paying the extra $ for home based high-speed internet primarily because I hate being nickled and dimed to death.  "Oh, it's only $20 more per month than dial up".  Used to I could use the T1 connection at work w/o any problem.  $20 more a month "for everything" starts to add up on an annual basis.  Cell phone, internet access, cable tv, etc.  BTW - I have the basic of basics cable - the $18 per month version for the TV.  No, I don't have a HDTV yet either.  I've got a huge TV in the living room, reasonably new, Sony, and it probably hasn't been turned on in 3 months.  I watch a small 19" tv in my study.

Shanea...your comments are right on.  $20 a month here and $20 a month there and pretty soon, you are talking big money.
