I know I post a lot of stuff, but I have a lot of questions. It seems my whole backpacking prep has amplified now that I have kids. I'm trying to get it all together and prepared by Thanksgiving. That is the goal we have set for our first adventure to BIBE. It's hard to find what I'm looking for in my kids stuff. I have some specifics that I'm looking for and it's hard to find it. Adults is easier. I guess companies don't expect the majority of folks to drag their kiddos out into the wilderness. So I have decided to try and make some of our own gear. The packs I will buy. I found some great ones that can grow with them and be able to hopefuly use in Boy Scouts. My oldest will be old enough next year for Cub Scouts. He will have a bit of a headstart on their curriculum, which is great.
I'm thinking of making their sleeping bags. I am wondering if I make a liner to go in one, if that will increase the temp zones. That way I can make one that can be used for mild weather, then add a lining and it would work for colder times, or they could just use it open with the lining in really hot times. I hope this makes some sense. I am going to use my hubby's as a pattern and just size it down to them. I think it should work. Just not sure.
