Patagonia is becoming the new Eddie Bauer. EB used to be actually functioning outdoor clothing. Now it's "urban outdoor" clothing, if you consider walking across a mall parking lot outdoor. Patagonia isn't that bad yet, but it's on it's way. Patagucci is a good description, LOL! I'll stick with my REI clothing.

Yes Eddie Bauer, has learned it's lesson and licked it's wounds. Now they have come back again to the market with real stuff for mountain sports fans, it also seems as though the prices are accesible. Somebody should check out their webpage and give us an opinion. This is their webpage for First Ascent .
Stay thirsty, my friends.

Yeah, but REI is going the same way. Lots of trendy 'look at me' clothing for doing trendy things that won't soil, rip, smudge or otherwise sully a trendy look.

My only concern is the funtionality of the clothing, but if it makes me look good to the trees, cactus, mountain lions and bears, it doesn't hurt my feelings as long as they don't jack the price in doing it.  $80 for a shirt seems a bit steep, but yes, I bought two of them because they were very functional in keeping me cool in the heat, very easy to hand wash, and dried darn near instantly.

I would never argue against that!  Was the same type that I had until this spring.  I thought I would give the 'cooler temp' type stuff a shot, and I don't regret it.  I wish I had it back in my youth when working cattle at our ranch in the dead of the summer.
