Fanny Packs for 32 oz. Nalgenes
« on: March 19, 2006, 06:44:07 AM »
I am looking for recommendations on fanny (lumbar) packs.  I currently use a day pack to carry the 32 oz. Nalgene water bottles on the day hiking that I do.  Would prefer to switch to a fanny pack to carry my camera and two water bottles.  I have found several that would work, but they do not appear to have side pockets that are large enough to accomodate the 32 oz. Nalgenes.

Any recommendation on a fanny pack that will hold those 32 oz. Nalgenes for me?

Thanks!

Other than the usual sources, try  http://www.campmor.com they have a cool little newspaper type catalog that they will send you - loaded with tons of stuff.

Glad to help out so that you can stimulate this economy with your hard earned dollars and keep us employed.  Of course, what you are probably purchasing was more than likely manufactured oversees - probably China or Indonesia, but alas at least Campmor is American and so some of the dollars will float around here.

I got a koozie for my 32 oz wide mouth nalgene at Sun and Ski sports.  I can't find them online, but it is really a cool thing.  I use it to take water to work in.  Keeps my water cold all day.  Outdoor Research makes a similar one that I got for my dad for Christmas:

I don't use it on hikes, though.  Usually use my camelbak for that.
