Most excellent moon shot of the eclipse, russco  Obviously this cloud cover doesn't extend to Ft. Worth.  Thanks!

Very nice russco - nothing but clouds in Central Texas. We've missed two straight cool celestial events: the eclipse tonight and the shuttle undocking from he space station the other day.  :pissed:

It's wrapping up here in Alpine and we had nothing but clear skies and a great show.  I couldn't really enjoy it knowing I have a 9 o'clock archaeology exam  :icon_evil:

One of the best parts of watching it was thinking of people seeing it from so many different places.  Got calls from as far away as Washington state!

Here's a couple of shots using my point and shoot and Paul's telescope.

And one more ; )

Nice pictures Voni:

what settings did you use on your camera?....I was looking forward to use mine and post something here, I had it set up on fireworks mode to get a better night shot, but was prepared to switch to Night Mode as well.

Also: Where were you standing when you took these pictures?....... :eusa_eh:...what? deja vu,again?
Stay thirsty, my friends.

Good questions.  I tried the night setting and fireworks, but what worked the best was the Auto setting with my point and shoot and careful focusing through Paul's telescope.

Standing on my front porch 53 sMiles south of Alpine on 118.

Cloudy early, but as the moon rose, it became crystal clear.
