Ah, to have deep pockets...

All well and good, but for $40K to $50K LESS money, you can have an EarthRoamer, http://earthroamer.com/main_truck/vehicles.html , with all the conveniences of a Class A and the ability to go all the places a Class A can't.

Everything in an ER runs on diesel and solar, so you don't need to find propane or gasoline...especially handy if traveling outside the US, plus diesel is a much safer liquid fuel in terms of accidental fires.

This vehicle is the only thing that would EVER entice me to use a Ford product again. Without starting any debates, MY experience with Ford vehicles has been uniformly BAD (YMMV), the poorest quality and reliability I've ever seen in motor vehicles short of a Yugo (and a major reason why they are in junk bond status at the moment and on the skids financially).

I drive a 2000 Toyota Tundra, a vehicle that has not cost me a dime beyond normal maintenance since purchase and it gets driven hard with significant off road time and pulling a 7,000 lb travel trailer. Currently over 100K on the odometer. The F250 I also foolishly purchased new cost me over $3000 in repairs in 5 years,  beyond the things that were covered by warranty and 4 recalls before I dumped it at 75,000 miles. Things started breaking at 15,000 miles that never should have been at issue.

All EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles are sold directly from the factory and are made to order. Typical prices for completed 2007 model year EarthRoamer XV-LTs range from just over $200,000 to approximately $230,000

my friend's parents until recently had a 38' Fleetwood Bounder, with the enormous diesel. they spent ~$130k on it. i don't see how that Ford version can cost $200k... there's not enough space in there to spend that much money i would think, unless everything is made of the finest italian marble. The truck chassis, though it's a 550 chassis, shouldn't cost more than 50k. thats a LOT of money for a very small camper. the bounder they had had 2 couches, a full kitchen, full height shower, washer/dryer, seperate room for the toilet, bedroom in the back, and when the sliders were out it was bigger than my apartment (though thats not saying much  ). maybe i just don't see it

I wasn't suggesting it was a good price...just that's what it is. However, if you look at the equipments specs you'll find top notch gear throughout, plus it will take you anywhere you want to go, something a class A can't.

It's a very narrow specialty market and if you have that kind of money it doesn't matter, does it? Of course, I think class As are obscenely expensive for what you get as well, and few of them probably are built anywhere near as rugged as the ERs.

If I had the pesos, I'd get one.

We just settled for the Gulfstream Endura (31' model) when they first came out in 04 (got the first Endura in Alabama).  I've taken it places people wouldn't belive an RV could go, but that's why we tow the jeeps behind it, I can go just about anywhere and still have all the conforts of home then. Some of our other club members were real jealous when we showed up at the Tellico OHV area last Jan with the Endura and jeep on the trailer behind it. I don't think it got over 37 all weekend, but we pulled up in shirt sleeves and made camp while everyone else was bundled up trying to stay warm.

Here it is as we were bringing my 2A back.

Best part was the price, 65K.

Hey Presidio...I saw one of these in another forum webpage..Did a thourough research of these Earthroammer's and the only vehicle chasis that they use is a Ford diesel.

Too bad you have had bad experiences with them. i wish Toyota had a diesel version though...
Stay thirsty, my friends.

But buy one for your business and write it off on your taxes.

you will be using an EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicle for business purposes, you may qualify for up to $45,000 in tax savings the first year alone!

Be sure and check out all of the additional options that you can add on to it.  http://earthroamer.com/2007%20XV%20and%20Ford%20Pricing.pdf

Talk about a niche market.  I think the magazine rack for $250 is a little over the top.

This baby is sweet.  I'm in love.  NO generator required.  NO propane required.  Totally self sufficient.  Solar charged batteries.  85 gallon fresh water tank on board.  Cooks with diesel.  Heats with diesel.

You can get an Earthroamer Hat and knife too!

Only problem with that is showing a business as 'professional hiker' and writing one of these things off would get you audited faster than a brick reaches the ground from 10 stories up.

I take it this is the first you've heard of this vehicle?

That is one cheesy piece of junk knife that probably cost them all of a quarter  in a not very large quantity. They could do better.
