Reserve America
« on: April 19, 2010, 08:37:00 PM »
I'd been trying to reserve a campsite since last week through Reserve America for a TPWD campsite.  Kept getting time outs and other errors.  Filed a complaint with TPWD.

Dear ShaneA

I apologize for the inconvenience. There is no denying that there have been serious performance problems with the site.  Believe me, Reserve America gets copies of all the complaints as well as frequent communications from us.

Reserve America has admitted that their equipment and net capacity occasionally become overwhelmed. The new design and function of the web reservation site has been implemented to address these performance issues, but errors still occur due to database synchronization issues, so the most accurate availability is the one shown here in the Customer Service Center.

If you experience difficulties with the new process, please call the Customer Service Center at 512-389-8900, press 1 for English, 1 for State Parks and 4 for Customer Service, or e-mail us your home and work telephone numbers including the area code and we will be glad to give you a call.

We'll keep the pressure on Reserve America until their performance is satisfactory or we find an alternative way to provide web reservations.  They do feel the pressure, since they don't get paid unless reservations are made.

We recommend that you try one of the other 3 ways to make reservations: phone (512-389-8900), fax (512-389-8998) or e-mail: https://www2.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/

Thank you for taking the time to write.  Hang in there with us.

Hmmm...didn't know about the e-mail option. Good to know.

I've had issues with RA in the past also. Hopefully they (RA) will get things up to speed since it's handy when it does work.

Just call the park and save the $2-3 processing fee  :icon_biggrin:

During the high season at popular parks, best to do it online.  I'd rather do things online and incur the processing fee rather than being stuck on the phone in vm heck.
