more training at Earth's Grand Canyon(800 kilometers long, 30 kilometers across and as much as 1.8 kilometers deep). And now you're ready for Mar's Valles Marineris(3000 kilometers long, 600 kilometers across and as much as 8 kilometers deep).

The gravitational pull on Mars is 0.38 that of earth.  

My fat 175 pound self could carry a 100 pound pack and have a net earth-weight of 104 pounds.  I could run up an 8 km hill in an hour, doing virtual Mars panoramas at every turn (if Casa Grande will show me how...)

But then there is the ....

atmosphere...

or lack thereof.

lets see... partial pressure of oxygen on Mars = 0.102 mb

partial pressure of oxygen on Earth = 212.7 mb

The stmosphere would be like climbing a peak at 165,000' above sea level...

I think I'll just enjoy the picture!   :)  (super-cool pic btw)
